The Devil under Suspicion - New Bozen Crime Episodes Unveil Deadly Secrets in Bolzano This March
The popular crime series The Bozen Crime returns with two new episodes this March. The 21st instalment, Devil's Punishment, airs on ARD on March 12 at 8:15 p.m., followed by Vineyard Blood on March 19. Both episodes follow detectives Sonja Schwarz and Jonas Kerschbaumer as they tackle shocking murders in Bolzano, South Tyrol.
The show, directed by Hans Hofer and written by Mathias Klaschka, has already drawn around seven million viewers in past episodes. This time, guest stars include Franziska Weisz, Fanny Krausz, Max von Thun, and Eisi Gulp, adding to the drama unfolding in the picturesque but deadly region.
The first murder shakes the local culinary scene when Michelin-starred chef Daniel Gasser is found shot dead while wearing a Krampus costume. Gasser, known for blending Tyrolean and Italian cuisine at his restaurant Gasthof Stern in Mals, had a major influence on South Tyrol's gastronomy. His rivals, such as Karl Egger and Johann Oberrauch—both multi-awarded chefs—had also made names for themselves in the region.
Gasser's personal life was troubled. His wife, Ricarda, was having an affair with his business rival, Antonio Minardi. Their son, Finn, showed little reaction to his father's death, raising suspicions. Meanwhile, mountain guide Milena Rinaldi becomes a person of interest after photos surface showing her with both victims.
A second murder soon follows, forcing the detectives to dig deeper. They must now determine whether the same suspects had motives in both cases. The investigation grows more complex as Sonja Schwarz's own family feud over the future of their winery adds another layer of tension.
Viewers can catch Devil's Punishment on March 12, with the episode also available in the ARD Mediathek. The following week, Vineyard Blood promises even more dramatic twists as the detectives race to uncover the truth behind the killings.
The new episodes of The Bozen Crime bring fresh mysteries to Bolzano, with detectives Schwarz and Kerschbaumer facing personal and professional challenges. The cases involve high-profile victims, tangled relationships, and a web of suspects tied to the region's culinary and winemaking elite.
Both episodes will air on ARD, with Devil's Punishment starting the series on March 12. The investigations continue to explore the darker side of South Tyrol's scenic landscapes and prestigious industries.
