Taylor Swift has announced her twelfth studio album, titled "The Life of a Showgirl", set to release on October 3, 2025. The album's title suggests a departure from Swift's previous musical styles, hinting at a theme of glamour and show business.

Swift revealed the album on Instagram, featuring a clip from the "New Heights" podcast of her boyfriend Travis Kelce (35). The Instagram post, accompanied by the album cover artwork, reads, "And, baby, that's show business for you. New album 'The Life of a Showgirl'. Out October 3."

The album cover artwork shows Swift in a sparkling swimsuit with cut-outs, posing in the water with a red lipstick and dramatic smoky eye makeup. The visuals perfectly match the countdown on Swift's website, which features a shimmering orange background and mint green letters.

The promotional photos for the album show Swift fully embracing the showgirl aesthetic, with rhinestones, feathers, and matching headpieces. The album's title may indicate a shift in musical direction, but according to People Magazine, Swift will once again combine personal themes with catchy pop melodies.

The producers of "The Life of a Showgirl" are Max Martin, Shellback, and Taylor Swift herself. Max Martin and Shellback are both renowned producers with a long history of collaborations in pop music, and this marks a new era for Swift’s production team, as longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff is not involved in this album.

The new album includes songs like "Elizabeth Taylor", "Ruin the Friendship", "Honey", "Actually Romantic", "CANCELLED!", "Eldest Daughter", "Father Figure", "Opalite", and "The Fate of Ophelia". Sabrina Carpenter (26) is featured in a track on the album.

The physical versions of the album will be available on vinyl, cassette, and CD, with the CD edition including an exclusive poster. The podcast appearance also featured Travis Kelce's brother Jason Kelce (37). Artistic details in the background of the podcast video include books with orange covers by artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Marc Chagall, and Ruth Asawa.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce discussed their relationship on the "New Heights" podcast, with Swift gushing about Kelce's blue sweatshirt and Kelce replying that the color matches her eyes. Following the success of Swift's last studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department", fans can look forward to another chapter in Swift's growing discography with "The Life of a Showgirl".
