Madison Scott Joins Washington Mystics Amidst Playoff Push
Madison Scott, the 14th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings, has joined the Washington Mystics on a 7-day contract. The rookie guard, who spent her college career at Ole Miss, will be looking to make an impact as the Mystics vie for a playoff spot.
In her final year at Ole Miss, Scott averaged 11.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.0 steals, with a three-point shooting percentage of 23.5% and a free-throw shooting percentage of 73.7%. Her field goal percentage stood at 46.6%.
Scott's WNBA debut with the Mystics has been marked by limited minutes and contributions so far. On August 23, 2025, against the Las Vegas Aces, she played 3 minutes, scoring 2 points by making 2 free throws, attempted 1 field goal but missed, registered 1 steal, had no rebounds or assists, and had a +2 plus/minus rating. Earlier, on August 21, 2025, in a game versus the Connecticut Sun, she was signed on a second seven-day contract and was listed as guard/forward #6 for the Mystics.
With Scott's addition, the Mystics, currently in 10th place in the WNBA standings with a record of 14-18, are a game and a half behind the Seattle Storm for the eighth and final playoff spot, with 12 games remaining in the regular season. The team, known for its young roster, is one of the surprise teams in the 2025 WNBA season.
Sonia Citron is another rookie making waves for the Mystics, earning Rookie of the Year candidate status. Jacy Sheldon was recently added to the roster as well. Kiki Iriafen is also a member of the team.
The Mystics are competing hard for a playoff spot, and Scott's arrival could provide a much-needed boost. With her college statistics and the potential she demonstrated, Scott could prove to be a valuable asset for the team as the season progresses.
