Meanwhile, the controversy surrounding 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s comments led to the pre-emption of the show by Nexstar. The decision to pull the show was made by ABC on Wednesday evening, shortly before Nexstar announced its decision. Nexstar strongly objects to 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s comments concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.
On a separate note, the Downey City Council has scheduled a 'Wednesday' afternoon meeting to decide whether to censure Councilman Mario Trujillo over a recent social media post. The meeting will take place at 4 p.m. in council chambers.
