Netflix's upcoming spinoff of Extraction gains momentum, with a cast expansion that now includes a former member of Game of Thrones, stirring anticipation among viewers.

In an exciting development for action-thriller fans, a television spinoff of the Extraction film franchise is on the horizon. The series, set to stream on Netflix, will be overseen by showrunner, executive producer, and writer Glen Mazzara.

The story follows a mercenary on a mission in Libya to rescue hostages, promising more time for character development due to its TV format. One of the main characters is Kalidou Diallo, played by Omar Sy. Sy, known for his roles in Netflix's Lupin and The Sandman, will be joined by a host of new faces.

Among the new cast members are Kevin Porter, a former US Marine and head of security for an oil field in Libya, who is a mentor and close friend of Diallo. Roger Ward, an executive of the company owning the oil field, central to a militant attack, is also part of the cast.

Natalie Dormer, best known for her role as Margaery Tyrell on Game of Thrones, will be a series regular on the Extraction spinoff. She plays Clayton Wisper, the head of a private military contractor. Boyd Holbrook, who has worked on multiple Netflix productions including Narcos, The Last of Us, and Andor, has been cast as a series regular on the show, playing an Extraction team leader named David Ibarra. However, the specifics of Holbrook's role are yet to be revealed.

Apart from Dormer, Sy, and Holbrook, the main additional cast members include Amina, Diallo’s fiancée; Veer Banerjee, an engaged executive; and Priscilla “Cilla” Ragab, a pregnant executive involved in the unfolding events around the oil field attack.

At the time of publication, Omar Sy is the only cast member confirmed for the Extraction spinoff. The Russo Brothers are also executive producers for the series. Dormer's role in the spinoff will be her second project for Netflix, following her appearance in the streaming giant's The Pursuit of Love.

The Extraction films, including the original movie starring Chris Hemsworth, are also available for streaming on Netflix. Unfortunately, no new information about Hemsworth's involvement in the spinoff has been revealed yet. The Extraction spinoff is not expected to premiere in the 2025 TV schedule, with a release date yet to be announced.
