Netflix series Monster: The Ed Gein Story showcases Charlie Hunnam's chilling portrayal of real-life serial killer Ed Gein, inducing shock and fear in viewers.

Netflix has recently released a trailer for its upcoming true crime series, Monster: The Ed Gein Story. This third season in creators Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's anthology series, Monster, is set to premiere on October 3, 2025, during the Halloween season.

The series follows the life of notorious serial killer Ed Gein, portrayed by actor Charlie Hunnam. Known for his chilling acts of murder, grave robbing, and necrophilia, Gein's character is seen tormenting Addison Rae's character in the trailer.

In the trailer, Gein is seen wearing a suit made of dead human flesh, breaking the fourth wall to taunt the audience. The disturbing acts depicted in the trailer, particularly towards his own mother, Augusta, played by Laurie Metcalf, are reminiscent of the major inspirations Gein's murders had on horror stories such as Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs.

Fans of horror and true crime should watch out for Monster: The Ed Gein Story on Netflix. If the series follows the lead of the first two seasons, it could be another popular show for Netflix and a major awards contender. Previous seasons of Monster have reached the #1 spot on Netflix's Top 10 list and have received multiple Emmy nominations.

Joining Hunnam, Metcalf, and Rae in the cast are Tom Hollander, Olivia Williams, Joey Pollari, and Will Brill. Ryan Murphy serves as the producer for the third season of the anthology series.

A second official trailer for Monster: The Ed Gein Story is expected to be released as the show nears its premiere. With its gripping storyline and stellar cast, this series promises to be a must-watch for fans of true crime and horror.
