Streaming giant Netflix securing partnership with royal couple Harry and Meghan - Netflix secures a fresh agreement with Harry and Meghan for new projects

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have extended their collaboration with streaming giant Netflix, as part of a multi-year first-look deal. This new arrangement, less exclusive than their original 2020 overall deal, continues their partnership and now includes Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever.

The Sussexes have been focusing primarily on unscripted programming, but their ventures into scripted content are expanding under this deal. Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria noted in early 2024 that Harry and Meghan have various projects underway, including a scripted movie and series, as well as unscripted content produced with Brandon Reigg.

Currently available on Netflix are popular series such as the docuseries Harry & Meghan (23.4 million views), the culinary show With Love, Meghan (5.3 million views in the first half of 2025), Heart of Invictus (sport-focused), Polo (sports docuseries), and Live to Lead (highlighting inspirational world leaders).

Upcoming projects include the second season of With Love, Meghan, scheduled to debut later in August 2025, a holiday special titled With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration, and a movie in development. Additionally, a scripted TV series and multiple unscripted shows are in early stages of development.

Meghan, in a statement, expressed her pride in continuing their partnership with Netflix, saying, "We are proud to continue our partnership with Netflix." Netflix's head of global TV, Bajaria, commented that Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences around the world.

The deal also includes the couple's luxury food brand, "As Ever," under which Meghan sells jam and other products. Archewell Productions is also working on a documentary about orphaned children in Uganda, set to air on Netflix later this year.

Meghan and Harry, along with their children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3), reside in the US. Relations between Meghan, Harry, and the royals remain strained following various allegations. If Netflix passes on any of their productions, the couple can offer them to other companies.

The Sussexes stepped back from their royal duties five years ago, and since then, they have turned to media productions and publications as part of their income sources, including Harry's upcoming memoir. Meghan made it clear that they are excited to continue their creative journey with Netflix, stating, "We look forward to building on this partnership for years to come."
