Netflix renews "One Piece" for a third season, unveiling a sneak peek at Season 2.

Netflix has confirmed that production for the highly anticipated third season of "One Piece" is underway, with filming scheduled to begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Although the streaming giant has yet to officially announce a release date, production timelines suggest that fans can expect to see Season 3 around mid-to-late 2027.

The announcement of Season 3 was included alongside the release of the trailer for Season 2 in August 2025, hinting at an exciting future for the popular anime series. The second season, set to premiere in 2026, is anticipated to cover most, if not all, of the Arabasta saga, potentially making it more focused and with streamlined production.

The previous season's filming and release patterns suggest about a year gap between wrap and streaming, reinforcing the mid-to-late 2027 expected release for Season 3. Netflix confirmed that filming for Season 3 will likely wrap in late Spring 2026, implying about a year for post-production and release after that.

In Season 2, fans can look forward to the return of Monkey D. Luffy (Inaki Godoy), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), as they journey through the Grand Line, encountering bizarre islands and new enemies. Lera Abova will play Nico Robin, and Callum Kerr will portray Smoker in the upcoming season.

In addition to the main cast, Joe Manganiello has teased that his character Mr. o will return for Season 3. The official logline for Season 2 promises "fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet."

To co-showrun Season 3, Netflix has recruited Ian Stokes, producer of "Marvel's Luke Cage" and "Iron Fist", and Joe Tracz, writer of "Percy Jackson and the Olympians". The collaboration is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the beloved series.

Although the exact release date for Season 3 is not yet known, fans can rest assured that they won't have to wait much longer. The release of One Piece Season 3 has not been officially confirmed yet, but based on production timelines, it is expected to be released in mid-to-late 2027. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new season!
