Netflix prolongs collaboration with Harry and Meghan
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have extended their partnership with Netflix through a new multiyear, first-look deal with their media company, Archewell Productions. Announced in August 2025, this agreement marks the continuation of their collaboration with the streaming giant.
Despite earlier reports of poor ratings for some of their content, Netflix continues to collaborate closely with the couple, producing thoughtful content such as the documentary "Harry & Meghan," series like "Polo," "Heart of Invictus," and "Live to Lead," as well as lifestyle projects. One such project is Meghan's cooking and baking show, "With Love, Meghan," which has been renewed for a second season and will air this month, along with a special holiday episode scheduled for December 2025.
The new first-look deal means Netflix has the right to consider new Archewell projects before the couple can take them to other studios, offering more flexibility but typically less guaranteed income compared to their previous exclusive rights agreement.
The brand "As Ever," under which Meghan sells marmalade and other luxury food items like wine, will also be part of the Netflix collaboration. Other projects in various genres are in active development by Archewell Productions.
Netflix's head of content, Bela Bajaria, stated that Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences worldwide. However, it's important to note that their relationship with the royals remains strained following various allegations.
Meghan offered rare insights about being a dad in the Royal family in a recent episode of "Father's Day with the Royals: Prince Harry as a Dad." Despite mixed reviews in the UK during its first season, "With Love, Meghan" has garnered 5.3 million views since its release, ranking it at number 383 on Netflix's half-yearly charts from January 1 to June 30. On the other hand, Harry's documentary series "Polo" managed only 500,000 views in the last six months, ranking it at number 3436 on Netflix.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, live in the US with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. They stepped away from their royal duties five years ago. The couple's ongoing collaboration with Netflix shows the streaming platform's continued commitment to working with them, despite prior mixed reception.
In addition to the upcoming season of "With Love, Meghan," Archewell Productions is currently producing a documentary about orphaned children in Uganda, set to air on Netflix later this year. The renewed deal gives Netflix the first right to projects from Prince Harry and Meghan, including films and TV shows. This partnership underscores the couple's dedication to creating meaningful content that inspires and educates audiences around the world.
I'm not going to be able to do this on my own: the number of projects Archewell Productions has in the pipeline with Netflix is overwhelming. In light of the successful collaboration with Netflix, it's clear that entertainment contributed by celebrities like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle can resonate globally, extending beyond mere lifestyle shows into meaningful documentaries focused on crucial issues like the lives of orphaned children in Uganda.
