Netflix deepens collaboration with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, continuing their partnership for streaming content
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have taken their creative partnership with Netflix to the next level, extending their multi-year, first-look deal through their company Archewell Productions. This new agreement, while less exclusive than their original 2020 agreement, marks a continued commitment to creating film and television projects with Netflix while expanding into lifestyle brand collaborations.
The duchess's lifestyle brand, As Ever, will now collaborate with Netflix to expand into new product categories such as wine, cookie mix, and fruit preserves. This move is part of the couple's efforts to diversify their business ventures in the United States.
Among the upcoming projects under this extended deal are:
- Season 2 of "With Love, Meghan", scheduled for release later this month in August 2025, with a special holiday episode titled "Holiday Celebration" planned for December. The show, a lifestyle and cooking programme starring Meghan, has been Netflix's most-watched culinary show since its March release.
- Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a documentary short film set to release this year, centred on a small orphanage in Uganda's Masaka region. This film will offer a heartwarming glimpse into the lives of orphaned children in the region.
- A film adaptation of Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel "Meet Me At The Lake" is also in the works. This project promises to deliver a captivating decade-spanning love story that begins with a chance encounter and a broken promise.
The partnership with Netflix is not the couple's first foray into the media industry. In 2020, they penned a multiyear deal with Spotify and produced a podcast, "Archetypes." However, they cut ties with the company in 2023.
Bela Bajaria, Netflix's chief content officer, expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating that Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere. The couple, who are living in California with their two young children, having been detangling their lives from the British royal family, are undoubtedly using their platform to create diverse, globally resonant content across genres that aligns with their shared vision.
