Tour de France Coverage Transitions to Digital Platforms with "Never Strays Far"

After ITV4's final broadcast of the Tour de France on July 27th, 2021, a new chapter in cycling coverage begins. The "Never Strays Far" (NSF) team, led by sports journalist Ned, David Millar, Pete Kennaugh, and Lizzie Deignan, has announced plans to continue delivering live coverage of the Tour de France in a digital format.

The NSF team aims to create a live watch-along and audio stream for the Tour de France, marking a shift from traditional TV broadcasting to digital streaming platforms. This move is a response to the conclusion of ITV's Tour de France coverage.

The remote production team in London, many of whom have worked on the Tour for over 20 years, carefully curates the daily content into a one-hour format for viewers. The show has always nurtured respect for the Tour de France, while also celebrating its idiosyncrasies and absurdities.

Despite the growing control over access to riders, the NSF team remains committed to providing in-depth analysis and insightful commentary. The live watch-along and audio stream will be free to follow, making the Tour de France more accessible to viewers.

The project will be announced at www.neverstraysfar.com. To sign up for news about "NSF - Live in France", visit the website.

Ned, known for his Tour de France coverage and podcast, "Never Strays Far", is a British sports journalist, television presenter, and podcaster. The ambition of the project requires public support to ensure its success.

The ITV4 crew, who knew since November that this would be their last, aimed to make the final three weeks of coverage the best ever produced by ITV. The crew seldom receives the credit they deserve for their dedication and hard work.

The NSF team has maintained an active presence with podcasts and other digital content related to cycling, including discussions about the Tour de France Femmes and other cycling events. They have also continued their involvement in events such as the Tour of Britain, signaling ongoing engagement with cycling events beyond ITV4's broadcast deal.

TNT Sports will be broadcasting the Tour de France next year. As we bid farewell to ITV's coverage, we welcome the exciting new era of cycling coverage led by the "Never Strays Far" team.
