JUST Fired: Tom Thibodeau Out as NY Knicks Head Coach
NYC— It's game over for Tom Thibodeau as head coach of the New York Knicks. The team announced his dismissal on Tuesday, following their defeat in game six of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers.
Thibodeau got the Knicks to the postseason playoffs for four out of the five seasons he led the team, culminating in their first appearance in the penultimate stage of the postseason in a quarter century this year.
"Winning a championship for our fans is our sole focus. This determination led us to the tough decision of informing Tom Thibodeau that we're headed in a different direction," Knicks President Leon Rose declared in a statement.
