NBA's Eastern Conference Champions, the Pacers, have made it to the championship series, colloquially known as the NBA Finals.
Get Ready for a Thunderous Showdown!
Are the Indiana Pacers making a spectacular comeback to the NBA Finals in 2025? You bet!
After 25 long years, the Pacers are back in the big leagues, aiming for the NBA championship. In the Eastern Conference Finals, they outplayed the New York Knicks with a convincing 125:108 victory in Game 6. Now, they're set to square off against the Oklahoma City Thunder in the championship series.
The Thunder, who finished the regular season strong, will feature German basketball star Isaiah Hartenstein, alongside MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Hartenstein has a chance to emulate Dirk Nowitzki, becoming the second German to win the NBA title, having won with the Dallas Mavericks back in 2011, under Rick Carlisle's guidance. Incidentally, Carlisle has now led the Pacers to the Finals, using a deep roster to great advantage.
In that deep roster, several players impressed, such as Tyrese Haliburton, the team's All-NBA guard, Pascal Siakam (31 points in the Game 6), and Andrean Nembhard, whose six steals ensured the Pacers didn't give up their lead. OG Anunoby led the Knicks with 24 points, while Ariel Hukporti, the German NBA rookie, made a brief appearance in the closing moments of Game 6.
