In the early 20th century, William Patrick Hitler, born on March 12, 1911, in Liverpool, embarked on a life that was far removed from the infamous path taken by his uncle, Adolf Hitler.

William's father, Alois Hitler, was a man of a different temperament. Allegedly abusive towards his son, Alois left his family to embark on a gambling tour of Europe before World War I. Once the war started, Alois was stuck in Germany, abandoning his family in England.

Despite his tumultuous upbringing, William found opportunities in his uncle's rising power. He secured a job in Germany at a bank and then a car factory, taking advantage of Adolf Hitler's fame and influence. However, his relationship with his uncle was strained, and William was eventually fired from his position at Benham and Sons accounting firm after Adolf took power in Germany.

William's discontent with his uncle led him to make a bold move. He started blackmailing Adolf, threatening to sell embarrassing family stories to the newspapers if he didn't receive better treatment and a higher-paying job. This move ultimately resulted in William's expulsion from Germany.

In 1944, William joined the United States Navy during World War II, fighting for his new country in the Pacific. After the war, he was discharged for a shrapnel wound and was awarded a purple heart for his service. It was during this time that he changed his name to William Stuart-Houston.

In 1947, William married Phyllis Jean-Jacques, and together they raised four sons - Alexander, Louis, Howard, and Brian. Howard, one of the sons, was engaged and intended on having children before his untimely death in 1989. Tragically, none of William's sons had children of their own, making Howard the last of Adolf Hitler's paternal bloodline.

William's relationship with his uncle was further strained when he wrote a six-page spread in Look magazine titled "Why I hate my uncle..." detailing his time with Adolf Hitler. This public confrontation further distanced William from his infamous relative.

William Stuart-Houston died on July 14, 1987, at the age of 76. His sons carried on his legacy, living quiet lives away from the spotlight. Despite their uncle's notoriety, they managed to carve out their own identities, a testament to the resilience of family ties.
