Navigating for Football Fans Headed to Hanover via BPOLI EF
In a report provided by the Federal Police Inspectorate Erfurt, the train journey of Hannover 96 fans to the second league match in Thuringia on March 1, 2025, was generally incident-free. Approximately 350 fans arrived at Erfurt Central Station around 20:00.
Upon arrival, the police ensured a controlled movement of the fans from the arrival platform to the departure platform. However, around 40 fans illegally crossed the tracks to reach the connecting train to Göttingen.
Unfortunately, incidents occurred on the return journey from Franconia. Pyrotechnics were set off on a platform at Erfurt Central Station, and a fire extinguisher was illegally discharged. Additionally, offenses and crimes were reported on the train.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Erfurt was responsible for the prosecution of the Hannover 96 fans involved due to these violations and crimes. Proceedings have been initiated against the fans who deliberately violated criminal and regulatory laws on Saturday evening.
