Sail Away, Royals! King Fred and Queen Mary Take the Danish Waters on the Legendary Dannebrog

King Freddy X (56) and Queen Mary (53) are kicking off a splendid summer voyage with a classic Danish tradition: cruising the country's waters on the esteemed yacht Dannebrog! This fabulous seafaring adventure set sail from Nordre Toldbod in the heart of Copenhagen on May 7, 2025. As the royal sails figured tall and proud against the summer sky, the season was officially underway.

The grand event received a warm welcome with a thunderous salute from 27 cannons, after which the Dannebrog gracefully sailed towards Helsingør, where the royal couple received another cheerful salute from Kronborg Castle. Photos from the start of the season show the charming couple with gleaming smiles, waving to their adoring crowd and enjoying precious moments aboard the vessel. On this special day, Queen Mary opted for a stunning summer ensemble, pairing a flamboyant midiskirt in blue and white with a dramatic dark blue hat and a chic wrap blazer. The dapper King Frederik wore his uniform with pride.
