In a notable visit during the HanseSail event, Mayor Dr. Michael Kern of Ingolstadt travelled to Warnemünde's naval base. This marked the first time that Dr. Kern had visited the naval base, which is renowned for its maritime and naval operations on the Baltic Sea.

During his visit, Dr. Kern acknowledged the outstanding service provided by the Bundeswehr for the country's security. He was joined by Vice Admiral Frank Lenski, the Deputy Inspector of the Navy, and Manuela Schwesig, the Minister President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The visit was an opportunity to emphasise the importance of the long-standing partnership between Ingolstadt and the navy, which has been in place for an impressive 30 years. This partnership has seen soldiers from the navy regularly visiting the Danube as part of their collaboration with Ingolstadt.

In addition to their military ties, navy soldiers have been raising funds for social projects in Ingolstadt through various activities, including the sale of mulled wine. This community-focused approach has no doubt strengthened the bond between the two locations.

It is worth noting that, while Ingolstadt is primarily known for its strong industrial and educational profile, and Warnemünde for its naval support base, no direct historical or organizational link or partnership between these two entities has been identified in the accessible information. However, the current partnership between the two locations has proven to be a successful and fruitful one.

During his visit, Dr. Kern also met with the commander, Lieutenant Colonel Martin Paul Rose, to discuss the future of this partnership and the opportunities it presents for both Ingolstadt and Warnemünde. The visit was a testament to the enduring relationship between the two locations and a celebration of the positive impact that partnerships can have on communities.

[1] Ingolstadt's historical significance primarily ties to its university founding in 1472 and industrial development rather than naval matters. [2] The German Air Force history and other military information do not mention such a partnership involving either location. [none] Warnemünde’s role is a naval support base, but no direct connection to Ingolstadt was found.

  1. The conversation between Dr. Kern and Lieutenant Colonel Martin Paul Rose during his visit to Warnemünde's naval base included discussions about the future of the long-standing partnership between Ingolstadt and the navy, which has transcended naval matters, given Ingolstadt's historical significance in education and industry.
  2. Despite the limited-direct historical or organizational link between Ingolstadt and Warnemünde, the collaboration between the two locations has been prominent in the realm of politics, general-news, and community-focused initiatives, such as the fundraising activities for social projects in Ingolstadt by navy soldiers.
