National Weather Service Issues Frost Advisory for DC Area

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Alexandria and surrounding areas in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. The warning is in effect from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, with temperatures expected to drop as low as 33 degrees, leading to frost formation.

The advisory covers a wide area, including Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria. However, the most significant impacts are anticipated outside city centers and in areas further inland from the Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River. Residents are advised to take precautions to protect their tender plants from the cold. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation, and sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

The frost advisory is set to last until 9 a.m. on Saturday. Residents are urged to take necessary steps to safeguard their plants and sensitive outdoor vegetation. The National Weather Service will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
