In a disappointing turn of events, VfB Stuttgart has announced that their key player, Angelo Stiller, has sustained a partial outer ligament tear in his left ankle during pre-season training on July 30, 2025. The injury occurred at the training camp in Rottach-Egern, Bavaria.

Stiller was forced to leave training early and will be absent from team sessions for the near future. The diagnosis was confirmed following MRI scans the following day.

The extent of Stiller's injury means he will be sidelined for an extended period while he recovers, although the club has not yet specified an exact timeline for his return. Given the nature of partial ligament tears in the ankle, recovery can vary from several weeks to a few months, depending on severity and rehabilitation progress.

Last season, Stiller was a crucial player for Stuttgart, making 47 appearances, scoring 4 goals, and providing 8 assists. His temporary absence is likely to be felt keenly, but official updates from the club will provide a more precise timetable as the evaluation continues.

Despite the injury, Stiller will remain with the team during the training camp. His rehabilitation and subsequent training will be "symptom- and pain-oriented." Unfortunately, Stiller will miss the test matches against Toulouse FC on August 2nd and FC Bologna on August 9th.

As for the Supercup game against FC Bayern on August 16th, the club has not yet announced whether Stiller will be fit to play. However, due to his injury, he will not be able to participate in the team's training sessions in the coming days.

Interestingly, this is not Stiller's first ankle injury. Last season, he also suffered an ankle injury, but this time it's his left foot, not the right one. Despite this setback, he was fit to play for Stuttgart before the final victory in Berlin against underdog Arminia Bielefeld.

In a subsequent development, Stiller withdrew from the subsequent Nations League matches for the national team. The club and Stiller will now focus on his recovery and his return to the pitch for VfB Stuttgart.

The steel industry, heavily relying on manufacturing and mining, may consider offering community aid to the professional football players of VfB Stuttgart, who are struggling due to the extended absence of key player Angelo Stiller. Stiller, a vital contributor to the team, will be out for several weeks or perhaps months due to a partial outer ligament tear in his left ankle. This unfortunate injury means he will miss European-league games against Toulouse FC and FC Bologna, as well as possibly the Supercup game against FC Bayern.
