Nashville Predators and NMAAM unite to celebrate Black music and heritage
The Nashville Predators and the National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) have built a partnership that stretches well beyond their shared downtown location. Both organisations focus on creating inclusive spaces where visitors and fans feel valued. Their collaboration has grown steadily since first taking shape in 2021 and 2022.
NMAAM opened its doors five years ago as an interactive venue reinforcing Nashville's reputation as Music City USA. The museum offers a unique experience, allowing guests to compile personal playlists from the music they encounter during their visit.
The Predators and NMAAM first joined forces when the museum hosted fan activities at Bridgestone Arena during concerts by African American headliners. Since then, their relationship has expanded to include Juneteenth celebrations and special Black Music Heritage nights at Predators games.
Recently, NMAAM curated a Music Heritage Showcase for a Predators match, featuring artists linked to each of the museum's permanent exhibits. The partnership now extends further, with the Predators teaming up with Nissan USA to honour Black history and heritage through a series of events planned for 2026.
The ongoing collaboration highlights a shared commitment to celebrating culture and community. Events like the Music Heritage Showcase and upcoming 2026 initiatives will continue to bring music, sport, and history together. More details on the partnership's activities are available online.
