Nashik’s Rs 8,000-crore ring road project gets Cabinet nod ahead of 2027 Kumbh Mela
The Nashik ring road project has received approval from the State Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure. Estimated to cost around Rs 8,000 crore, the 66.15-km road aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve transport in the region. The move comes ahead of the 2027 Kumbh Mela, which is expected to draw nearly 2 crore visitors to Nashik.
The project's total cost includes Rs 3,659.47 crore for land acquisition, funded through the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority. Civil works are estimated at Rs 4,262.64 crore, though negotiations with the central government on this amount are still ongoing.
The ring road is designed to streamline movement for residents, businesses, and the millions expected for the 2027 Kumbh Mela. With funding and execution plans now in place, the project will proceed once central negotiations and the MoU are finalised.
