Nashik industries demand urgent road repairs to boost economic growth
A delegation from the Nashik Industries and Manufacturers Association (NIMA) recently met with Jalaj Sharma, Commissioner of the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA). The meeting focused on urgent road infrastructure issues affecting industrial estates across Nashik district. Business leaders highlighted how poor road conditions are disrupting the smooth transport of goods and hampering economic growth.
Led by NIMA President Ashish Nahar, the delegation submitted a detailed memorandum outlining key concerns. They stressed the immediate need for repairs and resurfacing of roads in major industrial zones, including Shinde-Palse, Sinnar Industrial Area, and Brahmanwade Industrial Area. The poor state of these routes has created significant delays in moving industrial goods, directly impacting productivity.
NIMA also proposed long-term solutions, such as widening heavily used roads and improving drainage systems to prevent monsoon waterlogging. Additional requests included clearer road markings, directional signboards, and enhanced safety measures. To address these issues swiftly, the association called for joint inspections and prompt action on repairs. In response, Commissioner Sharma assured full support for upgrading and strengthening roads across Nashik's industrial estates. He acknowledged the importance of robust infrastructure for sustained industrial development. NIMA office-bearers, in turn, pledged their cooperation for inspections and ongoing discussions to ensure smooth implementation of the proposed improvements.
The meeting concluded with commitments from both sides to address the road infrastructure challenges. Repairs and upgrades are expected to enhance industrial efficiency and support Nashik's broader economic progress. The next steps will involve joint assessments and timely repairs to critical routes in the district.
