Mexican Driver Andres Perez de Lara Joins Niece Motorsports for Remainder of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series

Andres Perez de Lara, the 2024 ARCA Menards Series champion and winner of the NASCAR Mikel’s Truck Series championship in 2020, is set to join Niece Motorsports for the remainder of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Perez de Lara, born in Mexico City, began his racing career at the age of 11 in karting before moving on to Formula 4 and eventually stock car racing. He made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut on May 21, 2024, driving for Spire Motorsports and finishing 9th in his first race.

In 2025, Perez de Lara moved to full-time Truck Series competition, initially with Spire Motorsports driving the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado RST. He completed 17 races with Spire Motorsports over the season, finishing in the top 10 twice. Despite no clear reason given for the split, Spire Motorsports released Perez de Lara from his deal, allowing him to explore other options.

Perez de Lara is now joining Niece Motorsports for the remainder of the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Bill Anthony, Spire Motorsports President, wished Perez de Lara well in a statement, stating that he has made meaningful progress this season and remains confident in his future.

In the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, Perez de Lara sits third in the rookie standings and is chasing the Rookie of the Year award. He is recognized as a rising talent in NASCAR with championships in regional series and ongoing development in national-level competition.

Perez de Lara recently participated in the Xfinity Series, driving part-time for DGM Racing. In the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, he is performing strongly, ranking 18th in points with 345 points. In specific races at Watkins Glen and the eero 250, he finished 16th, showing competitive consistency.

This weekend, Perez de Lara will start racing for Niece Motorsports at Richmond Raceway. He appears ready for the mid-season change and is excited for the prospect of racing with Niece Motorsports.
