Narmada Valley Faces Two-Day Water Supply Halt for Critical Maintenance

Residents in Narmada Valley and surrounding districts are advised to store water in advance as a two-day government shutdown of Narmada Phase I, II, and III pipelines is scheduled for maintenance and connection works. The government shutdown, from 9 am to 2 pm, will affect water supply in various areas and villages. The government shutdown is necessary for the installation of a 60 MW solar power plant transmission line. During this period, several maintenance tasks will be carried out, including the repair of Manawar distributary gates in Dhar district and OS Left Bank Canal maintenance near Sanawad in Khargone district. Colonies connected to overhead water tanks in areas like Bilawali Tank, Annapurna Tank, Cotton Adda, and PWD Campus will also be affected. Other works during the government shutdown include replacement of rubber packing at Pump House No 3, laying of a 1400 mm diameter MS pipeline, and repair work of submersible pumps near the Narmada riverside. Villages in Mandla district such as Lodha, Chitapakhna, Paraswah, Kathideeh, and others receiving water under related schemes may also face water supply disruptions. Residents are urged to store sufficient water and use it judiciously during the government shutdown. Water supply will be restored gradually once the maintenance work is completed.
