Your new movie is set to come out at Christmas 2027 - Nancy Meyers returns with a star-packed holiday film for 2027

Nancy Meyers is set to return behind the camera after a decade away. Her new film, slated for a December 2027 release, marks her first theatrical project since The Intern in 2015. The untitled movie has already drawn interest from major stars and a new production partner.

The project was initially developed at Netflix but stalled due to creative disagreements and budget concerns. Warner Bros. later acquired the rights, reviving the film under Meyers' full creative control. She will write, direct, and produce the feature, though plot details remain under wraps.

Meyers is known for romantic comedies filled with lavish backdrops, and this film is no exception. A holiday release date was chosen to maximise box office potential and position the movie for awards consideration. Filming is expected to begin in 2026, though locations have yet to be confirmed.

Penélope Cruz and Owen Wilson are already attached to star, while Jude Law, Kieran Culkin, and Emma Mackey are in final talks to join. Law previously worked with Meyers on The Holiday, and Culkin appeared in Father of the Bride, suggesting possible reunions on screen.

The film's December 2027 theatrical debut will end Meyers' long break from directing. With a star-studded cast and Warner Bros. backing, the project aims to recapture the charm of her earlier hits. Fans of her signature style can expect a polished, high-profile return to cinemas.
