Saying Goodbye to "Naddel": Nadja Abd el Farrag Reportedly Laid to Rest, Away from Media Frenzy

Nadja Abd el Farrag is reportedly interred.

Hamburg, the city where Nadja Abd el Farrag was born and passed away, has become her final resting place. According to a recent report by Bild newspaper, "Naddel," as she was affectionately known following her relationship with pop sensation Dieter Bohlen, was reportedly laid to rest in the Hanseatic city's Ohlsdorf cemetery. The ceremony, attended by close family and friends, took place away from the media spectacle that followed her tragic demise.

Nadja's mother, Ute, and her sister, Tamara, were among the mourners. Her loyal Golden Retriever, Lilly, was also likely present.

A Longing for Privacy and Happiness

Despite her public life, Abd el Farrag harbored dreams of privacy and even a family, as revealed by her former manager and friend, Marion Ellendorf, in an interview with RTL after her passing. "A partner, a child, a reasonable relationship—that was her heart's desire."

Just weeks before her death, Abd el Farrag celebrated her 60th birthday. The details of her health at that time remain unclear. Frequent financial and health challenges plagued her in recent years.

A Life of Struggles and Addictions

In her 2018 biography "Achterbahn," Abd el Farrag bravely revealed her battle with cirrhosis of the liver, partially attributed to the medication she took for her ADHD and her alcohol addiction. In a 2015 talk show, she openly discussed her alcohol consumption: "I was a binge drinker and drank two to three glasses of white wine several evenings a week, never hard stuff. That was enough for me to get pleasantly drunk. I also drank during the day if I felt like it. But never more than two glasses of champagne or wine." Despite her liver problems, she reportedly refused to abstain from alcohol until the end.

Abd el Farrag, or "Naddel" to many, became a public figure through the RTL documentary "Nadja Abd el Farrag - An Unfulfilled Life."
