Muttenz Tram Line 14 reopens after major upgrades and months of closure

Tram Line 14 in Muttenz will resume service on Monday, November 24, 2025, following months of closure for major upgrades. The shutdown was essential for extensive work, including track renewals and signalling improvements along the route. BLT (Baselland Transport) completed significant work during the closure, rebuilding 850 metres of tracks in residential areas and replacing the entire signalling system at the Wartenberg loop. The upgraded Tram Line 14 will provide enhanced reliability and performance for passengers. Although the main construction is finished, minor finishing tasks and playground renovations will continue into early 2026. The return of the tram signals the end of the 14E bus service after months of operation.
