Muslim Brotherhood Calls for Prosecution of All Corrupt Officials in Egypt
Mohsen Rady, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, has called for the prosecution of all corrupt officials from the former regime. Despite rumours, there is no confirmed announcement of a 'Friday of Purging' in Tahrir Square, with the Muslim Brotherhood officially declaring its participation.
Rady stressed that 'the revolution belongs to the people' and no single political force can claim credit for it. The Muslim Brotherhood did not join the previous Friday's protest due to it clashing with Orphans Day. Rady believes that the six or seven officials currently under investigation are not enough. Demonstrators plan to demand the trial of ousted President Hosni Mubarak and his regime's remnants. The Muslim Brotherhood has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Friday's demonstration in Tahrir Square, which is tentatively named the 'Friday of Purging'. Local councils and all governors are also targeted for dismissal by the protesters.
While the Muslim Brotherhood will participate in the upcoming demonstration, there is no confirmed date or official name for the 'Friday of Purging'. Rady's call for the prosecution of corrupt officials reflects the ongoing demand for accountability in Egypt. The public should stay informed through reliable sources and exercise caution regarding anonymous calls to protest.
