Previously, Musk asserted on X that the real reason those Epstein files remained undisclosed was because of Trump's name within them. With a dismissive "Have a nice day," Musk set the stage.

Trump advocated for the full disclosure of these documents during his campaign, only to face resistance. After the explosive exchange with Trump, Musk hinted at Epstein files as the culprit for their suppression.
Once a partisan of the MAGA movement, Musk pledged an estimated $280 million (approximately $245 million) to support Trump's right-wing populist campaign in 2024.

The political honeymoon between the two soon soured. To express his gratitude, Trump appointed billionaire Musk as his special advisor after securing the presidency. Musk was tasked with wielding the axe on the federal bureaucracy. However, Musk abandoned his advisory role at the end of May.
In the process, Musk began to express criticism against Trump's tax plans, claiming they were the catalyst for American bankruptcy and an escalating debt.
