In a remarkable show of solidarity, a group of notable artists from around the world have joined forces to denounce what they perceive as an aggressive campaign supporting Israel's military actions. This collective effort, organised by the pro-Palestine collective, 'Artists for Palestine UK', is set to culminate in a concert scheduled for March 20, 2022.

The concert, aimed at challenging the UK government's foreign policy towards Palestine, will feature some of the biggest names in music, including Massive Attack, Brian Eno, Fontaines DC, and Billie Eilish. This diverse lineup underscores the global appeal of the cause and the widespread concern over the ongoing conflict.

The artists have planned this concert as part of their protest, with the aim to raise awareness about the Palestinian cause and to express solidarity with those affected by the conflict. The concert will be livestreamed globally, ensuring that its message reaches a vast audience.

Notably, this is not the first time artists have spoken out against Israel's military actions. In recent years, several Israeli artists, including musicians, writers, actors, and dancers, signed a petition titled "Stop the Horror in Gaza," criticising Israel's military conduct. German cultural figures, such as Daniel Brühl, Sandra Hüller, and Fatih Akin, have also been vocal in their opposition, signing appeals demanding government action and expressing solidarity with Gaza.

The Irish rap group Kneecap has also denounced financial entities tied to Israel's military actions, highlighting corporate complicity during their politically charged performances. In 2024, a pro-Palestine protest occurred outside the Oscars ceremony, further demonstrating the ongoing global concern.

The concert, however, will not include any Israeli artists, reflecting the artists' stance against what they perceive as aggressive campaigns supporting Israel's military actions. Various organisations, including Amnesty International, have expressed their support for the concert, underscoring the broad-based support for the Palestinian cause.

This concert serves as a powerful reminder of the role art and culture can play in raising awareness and advocating for change. It is a testament to the power of collective action and the enduring spirit of artists standing up for what they believe in.

The concert, featuring several prominent artists such as Massive Attack, Billie Eilish, and Fontaines DC, aims to use music as a platform for expression and to challenge the UK government's foreign policy towards Palestine. This global event, livestreamed worldwide, aims to raise awareness about the Palestinian cause and express solidarity with those affected by the conflict. Previous instances of artists speaking out include German cultural figures like Daniel Brühl, Sandra Hüller, and Fatih Akin, as well as Irish rap group Kneecap, who have denounced corporate complicacy in Israel's military actions.
