Following her recent signing with Barry Weiss' joint venture label, Records, in partnership with Columbia Records, pop singer-songwriter Slayyyter has embarked on a new musical journey. This new phase reflects a significant evolution in her sound, blending nostalgia with contemporary elements.

Her first single under the new deal, "Beat Up Chanel$," produced by Austin Corona and Wyatt Bernard, encapsulates themes of love, excess, and detachment. The song and its edgy music video, co-directed by Slayyyter and Hannah DeVries, mark a fresh chapter in her career and highlight a matured creative vision.

The collaboration with producers who have worked with artists like Halsey suggests a move towards sophisticated electronic pop production, signaling a more refined sound palette following her previous work on albums like "Starfucker," released in 2023.

"Beat Up Chanel$" carries a nostalgic feel reminiscent of indie electronic music Slayyyter listened to as a teen. The single is a reflection of her past experiences, including youthful nights and a longing for designer fashion.

Slayyyter expresses her gratitude about starting a new chapter of music with Columbia and Records. She feels excited for people to see the work they've been doing under the new deal.

The music video for "Beat Up Chanel$" follows the song's lyrics, creating an emotive and atmospheric style distinct from her earlier hyperpop sound. This new direction positions Slayyyter for a new era under Columbia and Records.

Slayyyter was an opener for Kesha's "Tits Out Tour" with Scissor Sisters, which began in July. The photography for "Beat Up Chanel$" features Andrew Saltman (RECORDS), Kenny Consor (Foundations), Sabrina Finkelstein (RECORDS), and Juba Lee (Columbia), capturing the collaborative spirit of her new journey.

Slayyyter's new single, "Beat Up Chanel$," offers a blend of nostalgic indie electronic music and contemporary elements, reflecting her pop-culture upbringing. This shift in sound resonates with Slayyyter's emergence in the entertainment industry, guided by her newly formed partnership with Columbia Records and Records.
