Musician Ed Sheeran ascends to the top spot with his latest album, "Play"
In the latest German music charts, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has made a significant impact, with his album "Play" climbing to the top spot. This marks Sheeran's sixth number one album in Germany, following the success of albums like "×" (Multiply) in 2014.
Meanwhile, the singles chart has seen a shakeup. "Golden" by an unspecified artist remains at number one for the seventh week in a row. The new entry at number 2 is "First Summer Without You" by Pashanim, pushing Heino's new single "Holla die Waldfee", featuring Claudia Obert, down to a disappointing position outside the top 100.
The German band project Unheilig lands at number 51 with its comeback single "Wonderful". Elsewhere in the top 5, "Ordinary" by Alex Warren is at number 3, and "Immerse Me" by Zartmann and "Soda Pop" by Saja Boys, Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee & KPop Demon Hunters Cast are at numbers 4 and 5 respectively.
Interestingly, three songs by Ed Sheeran, "Sapphire" (16), "Azizam" (20), and "Camera" (new at 54), have also made their way into the single ranking.
In the albums chart, "The Most Beautiful Children's Songs - Dance & Celebrate" by Helene Fischer is new at number 9, while the soundtrack to the Netflix hit film "KPop Demon Hunters" continues to hold the number three spot. The US alternative duo Twenty One Pilots' album "Breach" is at number 2.
Singer-songwriter Heinz Rudolf Kunze's album "Offer and Demand" is at number 5 in the albums chart. The deathcore band Lorna Shore's album "I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me" is at number four in the albums chart.
In summary, Ed Sheeran's "Play" has taken the top spot in the German album charts, while the singles chart sees a new entry by Pashanim at number 2, pushing Heino out of the top 100. Other notable entries include the soundtrack to "KPop Demon Hunters" and Heinz Rudolf Kunze's "Offer and Demand".
