Musician Das Ich unveils "Lazarus" - their first new single in 15 years
After a long hiatus of 15 years, the iconic German darkwave and gothic-industrial band, Das Ich, has re-emerged with a new single titled "Lazarus". This pulsating work between electronic cacophony and classical chamber orchestra is set to be released on August 15, 2025, as part of a 3-track single[2][4].
Formed in 1989 by Stefan Ackermann and Bruno Kramm, Das Ich became one of the defining acts of Neue Deutsche Todeskunst (New German Death Art) in the early 1990s[3]. Known for their orchestral industrial sound and theatrical live performances, the band has released several well-received albums throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, including "Staub", "Egodram", and "Antichrist".
The upcoming album "Fanal" is scheduled for release on October 31, 2025 (Halloween), marking their first full album in 18 years[2]. Alongside the album release, Das Ich has announced a "Fanal Tour" with initial dates already set, indicating an active return to the live music scene[3].
The 3-track single of "Lazarus" will feature three different versions: the single version, the Himmelfahrt version, and the Erweckung remix[4].
