In Ilmenau, Technology University (TU Ilmenau) is set to launch a ground-breaking Data Science program from the winter semester of 2025/26, offering both a Bachelor's and Master's degree. This interdisciplinary program is poised to equip students with the skills necessary for analyzing large data sets, combining computer science, statistics, and domain expertise. Although specific details about the program are not yet available, it's expected to prepare students for careers in data analytics, machine learning, and related fields.

Meanwhile, in Arnstadt, the Oberkirche Arnstadt e.V. association has an array of events lined up. On August 7, 2023, the church will host a concert by "Sing Your Soul" at 7:30 PM. Fast forward to June 6, 2025, and the Peter Somuah Group will take centre stage. And, in an exciting turn of events on August 7, 2025, unique instrumental arrangements by Meike Salzmann and Ulrich Lehna will be featured.

In a separate development, the nationwide prevention program "fit4future" is making its way to the Ilm district for the new school year. This program aims to promote physical activity, balanced nutrition, mental health, cognitive fitness, and responsible substance use. Schools and childcare centres in the district can apply for this free, two-year program at www.fit-4-future.de. It offers digital participation options, play and sports materials, teacher training, and action days in childcare centres and schools.
