The world of music is mourning the loss of Brian Wilson, co-founder of the iconic band The Beach Boys, who passed away at the age of 82. His family confirmed the sad news on his official Instagram account.

Social media buzzed with condolences and tributes to the legendary musician from celebrities and fans alike. Keith Richards, founding member of The Rolling Stones, took to Twitter, "Rest in peace." Carole King, fellow songwriting genius, posted on Facebook, "Brian Wilson was my friend and my brother in songwriting. We shared a similar sensibility."

John Cusack, who portrayed Wilson in the biopic "Love & Mercy," remembered him as "The Maestro... with an ear that heard the angels." Sean Ono Lennon, son of the late Beatles member John Lennon, shared his heartbreak on Twitter, noting Brian Wilson's influence on him.

Nancy Sinatra, the legendary singer and daughter of Frank Sinatra, paid tribute with an old recording she did with Wilson, sharing it on Instagram. "His cherished music will live on forever… God bless you, dear Brian."

Born in 1942 in California, Wilson co-founded The Beach Boys with his brothers Dennis and Carl Wilson, cousin Mike Love, and school friend Alan Jardine. As the band's primary songwriter and co-lead singer, Wilson also played bass guitar and keyboard. Together, they delivered hits like "Surfin' U.S.A.", "Wouldn't It Be Nice," "Good Vibrations," and "California Dreamin'." The Beach Boys are recognized as one of the most successful pop bands of the 60s and early 70s.
