Acris, a German Rock Band Celebrating 39 Years of Music

Acris, a rock band from Leonberg and its surroundings, has been creating music for an impressive 39 years. Founded in 1986 by Claus Lüer, the band has experienced a lot, played shows in Germany and abroad, and has had very few lineup changes.

The latest output from Acris is their fourth studio album, titled 'Volume 4'. This album, which features eleven tracks, was recorded in their Weilimdorf rehearsal room under the direction of bassist Roland Engler, who is a trained sound engineer and joined the band in 2018. The vocals were recorded in the Esslingen Trident-Hill-Studio with Stefan Mayer.

Acris consists of five members: Frank Kraemer, Peter Müller, Jan Ulmer, Helmut Nothum, and Roland Engler. Frank Kraemer, who is also the guitarist and singer, states that there is still an audience for Acris's kind of music. The addition of Helmut Nothum on the Hammond organ has slightly changed the band's sound.

Despite adversities, Acris continues to perform. Two shows are scheduled for this year: one at the 'End Of Summer Open Air' in Rutesheim and another on Halloween night at the Renninger Gleis 2. The gig to release 'Volume 4' at the Weissacher Herrenhaus was sold out, with more than 100 visitors wanting to see Acris.

It's worth noting that there is another band named Acris on Apple Music, a death metal band from Odessa in Ukraine. However, the German band, with its rich history and enduring popularity, continues to make its mark in the music industry.

The CD for 'Volume 4' is available in a digipak via email at [email protected]. The band members all have or had regular jobs: Frank Kramer is in quality management, Peter Müller is the first deputy mayor of the Renningen city administration, Jan Ulmer works as a media designer, Roland Engler was a dental technician, and Helmut Nothum was a communications technician.

In addition to Acris, another band, Gaffa, connected to the youth center, will present its new album at a punk rock festival in Leonberg. Acris, with its longevity and dedication to music, continues to inspire and entertain fans across Germany.
