Music group OMD unveils a deluxe version of their 40-year-old album, "Crush" for a special anniversary celebration.
Get ready, OMD fans! The British new wave band has announced a deluxe reissue of their iconic album "Crush" to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The reissue, set for release on October 10, 2025, will be available in various formats, including 2CD, 2LP black or coloured vinyl, and digital editions.
The 2CD deluxe edition will pair the original album with a second disc of rare and unreleased material. This additional disc will include B-sides, remixes, and seven previously unreleased tracks: "Wheels of Steel," "Lana Turner v.1," "Hold You (Rough)," "Choral," "Lana Turner v.2," "Drift (Demo)," and "All or Nothing (Demo)"[1][3].
The remastered original album on the first disc features the songs: - So In Love - Secret - Bloc Bloc Bloc - Women III - Crush - 88 Seconds in Greensboro - The Native Daughters of the Golden West - La Femme Accident - Hold You - The Lights Are Going Out[1].
The vinyl editions will include the seven unreleased tracks but omit some B-sides and extended mixes compared to the CD[1][3][4]. Each format will come with a booklet featuring rare photographs and liner notes by journalist Jason Draper[1][3].
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) formed in Meols, Merseyside, England, in 1978. The band consists of Andy McCluskey (vocals/bass), Paul Humphreys (keyboards/vocals), Martin Cooper (keyboardist), Malcolm Holmes (drummer), and Stuart Kershaw (drummer)[2].
The reformed OMD group revisited their early experimental sound while continuing to release new albums and tour internationally[2]. Over their career, OMD have sold more than 40 million records[2]. "Crush" was originally released on 17 June 1985 and was produced by Stephen Hague. It marked a shift to a more polished sound for OMD and included hit singles like "So In Love" and "Secret," with the former reaching No. 25 on the US Billboard Hot 100[1][5].
The 40th anniversary reissue aims to reassess this important album from the band's career and makes available previously unheard material from the recording sessions[1][3]. Fans in the United States, Canada, and Mexico can order from OMD's USA webstore for local shipping rates, while an exclusive clear-vinyl 2LP will be offered through the band's UK webstore.
