The much-anticipated Morgenland Festival Osnabrück is set to return this summer, from June 28 to July 11, 2025. This year's festival promises an extraordinary lineup of international artists, a diverse framework programme, and a theme centred around change.

Kicking off the festival on June 29, 2025, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Yo-Yo Ma, Kayhan Kalhor, and Alan Gilbert will present a new double concerto titled "Venus in the Mirror". This groundbreaking work will be commissioned for the 20th anniversary of the festival in cooperation with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra and the University Musical Society Ann Arbor/USA.

On July 11, 2025, Rami Khalife and Francesco Tristano will perform in an extraordinary concert that features a choreographed interplay of sound, space, and movement. The concert will mark the conclusion of the festival.

A notable addition to this year's festival is Erdem Helvacioglu, a composer and sound designer based in Brooklyn, who will develop a new work in collaboration with the Osnabrück Youth Choir. This work will blend European choral music with electronic textures, creating a unique fusion between Istanbul and New York.

Syrian clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh will serve as the guest curator for the festival. The festival will also feature a variety of international artists, including Dawn of Midi, Johnny Gandelsman, Brooklyn Rider, Issam Rafea, Asya Fateyeva, François Rabbath, Layale Chaker, Dinuk Wijeratne, Christine Zayed, Tarek Yamani, the Cello Octet Amsterdam, Karen Ouzounian, Lembit Beecher, Nai Barghouti, Jake Charkey, and Shabnam Parvaresh.
