As the cherry on top, British heavy-hitters like The Prodigy and Bring Me the Horizon and Germany’s very own K.I.Z were set to take the stage. However, don't get too comfy just yet, folks, as a bit more rain and windy gusts might be coming your way.
The shindig organizers had teased two surprise concerts on Sunday to honor the 30th anniversary of Rock im Park. Frontman Peter Brugger of the Sportfreunde Stiller took the stage, beaming at the already slightly weary crowd, exclaiming, "What a great time you're here so early!" With the festival's festive mood in the air, the crowd didn't let the fatigue hold them back, singing, clapping, and grooving along.
As an extra surprise, the band invited German singer Soffie and the British indie-rock group The Subways to join them on stage. With close to 90,000 music enthusiasts bopping along to over 100 performances on four stages, Rock im Park is bigger and better than ever this year!
Meanwhile, its twin festival, Rock am Ring in the Eifel, is celebrating its 40th edition with almost the same lineup of bands gracing the stages at different times.
