Break time! Johnny Depp (62) and Penélope Cruz (51) took a quick breather from filming their upcoming movie, "Day Drinker," with a trip to Madrid's Museo Reina Sofía. Snaps shared on Instagram show the duo cowboy hatted and gallery browsing in the Spanish capital.
It's been a short spell since Depp first teased his role as Kelly, a mysterious guest on a yacht, with a post on social media. After a hiatus from leading major Hollywood productions, this film marks Depp's return to the silver screen, his first since the contentious court battle with ex-wife Amber Heard (39), which he mostly won in 2022. Since then, Depp has also starred in the French film "Jeanne du Barry" and directed "Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness," but "Day Drinker" marks his re-entry into the big league.
The museum visit likely wasn't a long detour since "Day Drinker" production kicked off in Spain in April, as per US industry magazine, "Variety." This will be the fourth collaboration between Depp and Cruz, following "Blow," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," and "Murder on the Orient Express." Alongside the pirate legends, the film also stars rising stars like Madelyn Cline (27) and "Elite" star Manu Ríos (26).
Director Marc Webb (50) shared his excitement, saying, "I'm thrilled to start production with Johnny, Madelyn, Penélope, and this fantastic cast. We're in a great place with a phenomenal crew, and we have a ravishing, uncontainable tale to tell. It's going to be a blast."
