Museum in Astana receives official presentation of film concert titled "Saken"
In the heart of the capital, the Saken Seyfullin Museum played host to a unique event – the film-concert "Saken". This groundbreaking production, a first for Kazakhstan, united film, documentary, and theatre genres, all bound together by the power of music.
The film, created to commemorate the 130th birthday of Saken Seyfullin, features a captivating soundtrack of various songs, including "Tau isinde", "Bizdin jacqta", "Aqsaq kiik", "Kokshatau", "Bir bala", Abiken Kassenov's "Qoñyr", and a composition "Üsh arys" with music by M. Egembayev.
Olzhas Dälelkhan, a renowned figure in Kazakhstan's music scene, served as the choral conductor, musical editor, and sound recording engineer for the film. His expertise was instrumental in crafting the film's sonic landscape.
Narshyn Orleyu, a talented cinematographer and editor, was responsible for capturing the visual narrative of the film. The project was brought to life through the combined efforts of these artists, who worked tirelessly in various regions of Kazakhstan.
The film-concert was attended by state and public figures, including Oralbay Abdikarimov, Beibit Mamyrayev, Serik Turgynbekuly, Rosa Asylbekova, Asylgul Abish, actors from the film-concert, and museum staff.
The English, Turkish, and Russian versions of the film have been translated and voiced by a talented ensemble, including Aruzhan Zhumysova, Adil Zakov, Syrym Qashqabayev, Nurbek Kamena (voice of "Zhibek Zholy" TV channel), Baljan Isabekova, Gulzhan Abdibayeva, and Aruzhan Kanatkyzy.
Director of S. Seifullina Museum, Doctor of Historical Sciences Marat Absemetov, emphasized the significance of the film "Saken" in the cultural life of the country, stating that it reflects the fate and tragedy of Kazakh intelligentsia. The film-concert "Saken" will be released in cinemas nationwide on August 7.
Kanat Zhumisov, the scriptwriter and director of the project, has crafted a cinematic experience that pushes the boundaries of traditional storytelling in Kazakhstan. Sitora Anvarova, Birjan Zhumysov, and Olzhas Dälelkhan lend their voices to the film, reading off-screen text. Shynar Eleumbaeva serves as the film's artist.
