Münster's new mayor election: Contending candidates Fuchs and Lunemann vie for the position
In the recent election for the City Council of Münster, the Greens emerged as the strongest faction with 21 seats. However, no candidate received an absolute majority in the first round, necessitating a runoff.

The runoff election will be between Tilman Fuchs and Dr. Georg Lunemann, scheduled for September 28, 2025. The new Mayor of Münster will be determined by the candidate with the most votes on this date. Voting notifications for September 14 are valid for the runoff.
