Hesse's Minister of Economics and Transport, Kaweh Mansoori (SPD), in response to inquiries from the German Press Agency, acknowledged the resentment expressed by the impacted municipalities. He admitted that the number of departures over them currently exceeds the initial plan.

The ministry is set to meticulously evaluate Fraport and DFS' plans for their actual noise impacts and compliance with the plan approval decision. Fraport and DFS announced on a recent Wednesday that they were working on a new operating concept for Germany's foremost airport. The revisions affect departures during westbound operations, flown on approximately 70% of days. This change is prompted by projected growth in air traffic movements to 2033, with estimates indicating up to 560,000 flight movements per year, exceeding the 2019 maximum of 514,000.

Fraport explained, in response to the criticism, that the concept's development is still ongoing. The current status has been shared with neighboring municipalities. Over the coming months, all involved organizations, ministries, oversight bodies, and committees will continue to collaborate.
