Gütersloh's New City Council and Integration Council: Results Announced

In the recent elections held in Gütersloh, the city council and the Integration Council have seen new faces take up their seats. The newly elected city council will consist of 64 members, with the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) emerging as the strongest faction with 21 seats.

The SPD follows closely with 14 seats, while the Alliance 90/The Greens and Citizens for Gütersloh (BfGT) will each have ten seats. The AfD enters the council with nine seats, and the FDP will have two members. The Left and POLONIA GÜTERSLOH, along with the Aramaic/Assyrian (Syriac Orthodox) communities, each have two seats in the Integration Council.

The International List won the Integration Council election and will have three seats, with Pinar Sarilkan and Wasilissa securing individual seats. The Turkish Association List also has one seat, held by an unnamed individual.

Mayor Matthias Trepper thanked all voters for their participation in both the municipal and Integration Council elections, with a voter turnout of 47.11 percent for the municipal election and 13.9 percent for the Integration Council election. The results of the Integration Council election can be found in the VoteManager, while the results of the municipal election have already been mentioned earlier.

The newly elected council will convene on November 14, with the electoral committee set to meet on Tuesday, September 17, to officially confirm the results.

The elections in Gütersloh reflect the political landscape of the district, with the CDU continuing to hold significant positions, as indicated by related election outcomes in the Kreis Gütersloh.

Mayor Trepper expressed his gratitude to the voters and his eagerness to work with the newly elected council members to continue serving the city of Gütersloh.
