Munich's TSV 1860 experiencing immense elation as they approach the second league, potential achievement within grasp

TSV 1860 Munich is gearing up for the 2025/26 3. Liga season with a series of strategic signings aimed at bolstering their squad and challenging for promotion.

The Bavarian club has secured the services of experienced strikers Kevin Volland and Florian Niederlechner, who have collectively scored 125 goals in the Bundesliga. Their additions provide much-needed firepower upfront.

In midfield, TSV 1860 Munich has recruited Max Christiansen, a defensive midfielder with top-level experience. His arrival offers stability and experience to the team.

Defensively, the club has signed Siemen Voet, a center-back with Champions League experience from Slovan Bratislava, and Manuel Pfeifer, a regular Austrian Bundesliga left-back from Hartberg. These acquisitions suggest a well-rounded strengthening in attack, midfield, and defense.

With these new signings, TSV 1860 Munich aims to compete strongly for promotion back to the 2. Bundesliga. Both Rot-Weiss Essen and TSV 1860 Munich are large clubs in the 3rd league and are considered promotion contenders.

Volland, one of nine new signings for TSV 1860 Munich, will take up a role as a number 10 in the new attacking line, which also includes Florian Niederlechner, Sigurd Haugen, Justin Steinkötter, and Patrick Hobsch.

The pre-season performance of TSV 1860 Munich has been convincing, culminating in a 4-0 win against relegated SSV Jahn Regensburg. Thomas Dähne, who played in the Bundesliga last season, is expected to be the starting goalkeeper.

Coach Patrick Glöckner has praised the team's performance, noting that they played as a unit and showed a high level of playing joy. Volland, however, is cautious about setting goals, preferring to focus on gradual development and smaller goals.

Siemen Voet, previously of Slovan Bratislava, is expected to start in central defense, while Kilian Jakob and Manuel Pfeifer are competing for the left side of defense, with Pfeifer currently having the edge.

The 2025/26 season of the 3rd league is set to start with a duel between Rot-Weiss Essen and TSV 1860 Munich. Coach Glöckner expects a different opponent at Essen's Hafenstraße who will be more present and mentally prepared.

Volland respects the challenges of the 3rd division and views it as a place for gradual development. The win against SSV Jahn Regensburg has sparked real excitement for the league start for TSV 1860 Munich. Despite the off-field issues like the Hasan Ismaik controversy, expectations are high following a positive second half of the previous season and an active transfer window. Dr. Christian Werner, the managing director of TSV 1860 Munich, also praised the team's performance but kept their feet on the ground for the upcoming league start.

In the upcoming 2025/26 season, TSV 1860 Munich's focus on European-leagues caliber players is evident with the signing of Max Christiansen, a midfielder with top-level experience, and Siemen Voet, a center-back with Champions League experience.

With the addition of prolific strikers Kevin Volland and Florian Niederlechner who have scored a combined 125 goals in the Bundesliga, football enthusiasts look forward to seeing TSV 1860 Munich challenging in sports competitions such as the 3. Liga and potentially striving for promotion.
