Munich debut of the vessel Manitou, titled DAS KANU DES MANITU
In the world of cinematic comedy, the highly-anticipated sequel to the cult parody Der Schuh des Manitu has finally arrived. Titled Das Kanu des Manitu, this new film, directed by Michael Bully Herbig, made its grand debut on 14 August 2025.
The film's star-studded cast includes Jasmin Schwiers, Jessica Schwarz, Rick Kavanian, and many others. Michael Bully Herbig himself plays the role of Abahachi, the Apache chief, and his twin brother, while Christian Tramitz reprises his role as Ranger. Notable additions to the cast include Jessica Schwarz as the gang leader Boss and Rick Kavanian as Dimitri and a deputy.
Set in a humorous and action-packed narrative, Das Kanu des Manitu follows the story of Abahachi and Ranger, who are confronted by an up-and-coming gang seeking the legendary "Canoe of Manitou." At the last moment, they are rescued by their loyal friend Dimitri and his new assistant Mary, played by Jasmin Schwiers. However, this rescue is part of a larger plan, leading the group on a hilarious adventure filled with misunderstandings and comedic moments.
The film, produced by Michael Bully Herbig and distributed by Constantin Film, was met with great enthusiasm at its world premiere, which took place at the Munich Mathäser Cinema. Over three thousand guests attended the event, including Constantin Film CEO Oliver Berben, Constantin Film board member Martin Bachmann, Dorothee Erpenstein (FFF), Hella Brice, and many other illustrious guests.
The Austrian premiere of Das Kanu des Manitu took place in Vienna, followed by a cinema tour in numerous German cities until 20 August. The film's team was enthusiastically celebrated on stage after the premiere.
In addition to the film's success, a choreography challenge for the song "Weil wir so supergeil drauf sind" has been trending on social media platforms. The winner of this challenge will present their choreography live on 23.8. in the RTL special show "Stefan and Bully against some random thing - The Manitu Show."
