Mumbai's Ram Navami 2024 to Feature a Stunning 2,000-Drone Spectacle
Mumbai is preparing for a grand celebration of Ram Navami, a key Hindu festival marking the birth of Lord Rama. This year, the city will host its first-ever 2,000-drone show, blending modern technology with cultural heritage. Leaders across Maharashtra have extended warm wishes to mark the occasion. Ram Navami falls on the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri, a nine-day festival honouring the nine forms of Goddess Durga. In Maharashtra, this period holds special significance, beginning with Gudi Padwa—the Marathi New Year—celebrated with gudi hoisting and processions. The festival also commemorates historical victories linked to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, with rituals held in cities like Mumbai and Nashik.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde both shared their greetings, praying for peace, happiness, and strength in every home. Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde urged residents to embrace devotion to Lord Ram and live by faith and values.
The highlight of this year's celebration is the 2,000-drone show, designed to showcase Maharashtra's rich culture and traditions. Organisers promise a breathtaking visual experience, merging cutting-edge technology with the state's deep-rooted heritage. The drone show will offer Mumbaikars a unique spectacle on Ram Navami. Alongside the festivities, the occasion reinforces cultural pride and spiritual reflection. Leaders have emphasised unity, devotion, and the importance of upholding traditional values during the celebrations.
