Mumbai's heavy rain flooded the Juhu bungalow of Amitabh Bachchan, with the actor captured on video cleaning up the water.
Mumbai, India, is currently battling extensive flooding as heavy rains continue to lash the city. The intensity of the downpour is expected to decrease from Thursday, but the damage has already been done.
The flooding in Mumbai is severe, causing disruptions to daily life and creating havoc in the city. On Tuesday, relentless rainfall caused significant disruption, crippling public transport and leading to waterlogging throughout the metropolis.
Local authorities have attributed the technical failures, such as the ones experienced by two packed monorails on Tuesday evening, to "overcrowding." Unfortunately, one person has died, and three people have been injured due to the heavy rains in Mumbai.
Amitabh Bachchan, a renowned Bollywood actor, has been affected by the floods. His hilltop bungalow "Prateeksha" in Juhu, Mumbai, has been submerged in ankle-length water due to the heavy rains. In an effort to protect his property, Mr. Bachchan took measures such as erecting barriers and employing sandbags.
A video of Mr. Bachchan's flooded bungalow has gone viral on social media, and it appears that the homes of other celebrities, including Ajay Devgn and Kajol, Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji, and the Deol family, have also been affected by the heavy rains.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red warning for Mumbai, forecasting moderate to intense spells of rain. Mumbai is currently under an orange alert for Wednesday, with the IMD predicting more heavy rain.
The flooding in Mumbai is crippling transportation, making it difficult for residents to navigate the city. Despite the challenges, the people of Mumbai are resilient and are working together to weather this storm.
