Mumbai's Dussehra: Expect Massive Ravana Effigies, 24/7 Shopping
Mumbai is gearing up for Dussehra with a series of vibrant events, including the burning of massive Ravana rams and immersions of Goddess Durga idols. Shops, hotels, and malls will remain open 24/7 to cater to the festive crowds.
The Malad Ramlila, organized by the Malad West Indian Dramatic Club since 1982, will attract over 10,000 people on Dussehra. This year, the event promises special effects, graphics, and a 16x60 ft LED screen. The grand finale will see a 50-feet tall Ravana burnt on Thursday evening.
At Zakaria Road, Malad, a 40-feet Ravana will be set ablaze by the Shree Ram Manas Manch troupe from Moradabad. The Ram Shree Ramlila Prachar Samiti in Malad is also expected to draw large crowds with its impressive displays. Mumbai's iconic venues like Girgaon Chowpatty and Ram Lila Maidan, Malad West, will host the burning of Ravana effigies.
As the festive season approaches, Maharashtra shops, hotels, and malls will stay open 24/7 to accommodate the increased footfall. The Malad Ramlila, a traditional event attracting thousands, continues to be a highlight of Mumbai's Dussehra celebrations. This year, it promises to be an even more spectacular affair with larger-than-life effigies and impressive visual effects.
