Mumbai Indians chase down 220 to stun KKR in IPL 2026 thriller

Here is what the IPL 2026 points table looks like after game two.

MI cruise past KKR

Asked to bat, Kolkata Knight Riders were off to a blazing start thanks to a 69-run opening stand in just 32 balls. Once Finn Allen (37 in 17) fell, Ajinkya Rahane (67 in 40) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (51 in 29) pushed the KKR score to 220-4. On his debut for MI, Shardul Thakur picked up 3-39 in four overs: he was later named the Player of the Match.

Unfortunately, the total seemed too small as Ryan Rickelton (81 in 43) and Rohit Sharma (78 in 38) went on a rampage for MI. The pair added 148 in a mere 71 balls. MI lost a few wickets, which pushed their chase into the final over, but in the end they won with five balls and six wickets in hand.
